We’re delighted to announce Rosemary Canfield was elected Monday evening as chair of the SLO County Democratic Party (SLOCDP).
The Central Committee was fortunate to have two intelligent, experienced and capable women as candidates. We’re grateful to Donna Kandel for her devotion and loyalty to the Democratic Party. We honor and respect the years of service, dedication, wisdom and perspective of Donna and those who voted for her.
The evening was marked by dignified debate, generosity of spirit by the candidates and their supporters, and the presence of a wide variety of locally elected office holders who came to support the party and honor democracy.
With a view toward the 2018 election cycle, we look forward to a close and cooperative relationship working to elect Democrats to local, state and national office. This Chair’s election represents a huge step forward toward our common goal of growing a unified and inclusive local party.
With an appreciative nod to Donna Kandel and her voters, we stand behind Rosemary Canfield and have full confidence that her passion, commitment, vision and hard work will lead the Democratic Party to success in 2018 and beyond.
Let’s get to work!
